Key Features:
- Caliber: 9mm Luger
- Barrel: 4.02 inches Glock Marksman Barrel
- Ergonomics & RTF6 Grip Texture: The frame features a reshaped grip with a more pronounced palm swell and a thinner front-to-back dimension to reduce “boxiness”. It introduces the RTF6 (Rough Texture Frame 6) texturing, which extends to an integrated thumb rest/support ledge.
- Enhanced Control Surfaces: Includes a noticeably elongated beavertail (approx. 3/8 to 1/2 inch longer) to prevent slide bite, a deeper undercut trigger guard for a higher bore axis, and an enlarged border around the slide stop to prevent accidental actuation.
- Flat-Faced Trigger: Moving away from traditional curved shoes, the Gen6 features a standard flat-blade trigger with a reduced reach. While the physical pull weight remains identical to prior generations at 26 N (approx. 5.8 lbs), the flat design allows for more consistent finger placement.
- New Optic-Ready System: The revised factory optics cut utilizes a lower-profile mounting interface featuring specialized hour-glass shaped polymer plates. This setup acts as a crush-washer system, seating optics deeper into the slide for a lower bore axis and easier co-witnessing with iron sights.
- Internal Refinements: The Gen6 returns to a simpler recoil spring assembly reminiscent of Gen3 architecture rather than the dual-stage Gen5 design. It utilizes a proprietary GLOCK Marksman Barrel, meaning older-generation barrels are not backwards-compatible, though it retains compatibility with older 9mm double-stack magazines.
